RESTON, Va. — Aleut Federal, LLC (Aleut) recently appointed Catherine Urban to the Company’s executive leadership team as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Urban will be a key contributor to Aleut’s strategic growth initiatives – improving the organization’s established infrastructure to increase efficiencies, maximizing benefits to both customers and shareholders alike.

With more than 25 years of positions of increasing responsibility in the financial and business management sector of government services, Urban brings an impressive blend of practical experience. She joins Aleut from her role as CFO for Advanced Concepts and Technologies International, LLC (ACT I), a leading provider of mission-critical solutions across the Aviation, Homeland Security, Business Technologies, and Intel Solutions markets.

Urban has extensive experience supporting Alaska Native Corporations (ANC). During her 8-year tenure at Arctic Slope Regional Corporation Federal Holding, Urban served as Vice President of Business Operations and Finance. “I’ve seen the benefit and recognized the value the Federal arm of these companies can bring to the Alaskan shareholders,” said Urban. “I am thrilled to be back supporting an ANC and its mission.”

Urban cites Aleut’s commitment to integrity and ethics, as well as its strong values, as the key attributes that drew her to the organization. Urban’s philosophy centers around a “one team” concept – the idea that placing individuals in positions tailored to their unique strengths will yield the most success – not only for the individual, but for the team.

Similarly, Aleut’s “We Are One” philosophy centers around the idea that achieving excellence requires the recognition and fostering of connection between Aleut shareholders, clients, communities, and its employees. “We all succeed and fail together,” said Urban.

Urban’s approach focuses on the financial health of the Company with an emphasis on accuracy and compliance. She believes that the role of the finance team is to gather, interpret and share value-added information, empowering leadership to make informed decisions for the betterment of the Company.

“I am pleased to welcome Catherine to our leadership team,” said Aleut Federal President, Martin Hanofee. “Her in-depth knowledge and understanding of the complexities of Alaska Native Corporations will make an immediate impact as we explore what’s next for Aleut, our shareholders, and our customers.”
